The reality

South Africa is full of people with extraordinary potential
facing extraordinary hardship.

Millions of South Africans don't have access to food, healthcare, education or shelter.

What they do have is incredible passion, grit & talent.
They just need someone to believe in them.

That's why The Angel Network exists.

Not to hand things out. To help people soar — more independent, more capable, more empowered than before. Because when you give someone the hand up they need, the cycle of poverty breaks.

And the ripple doesn't just impact one family — it impacts generations to come.

1
One person
gets a qualification, a skill, a future they could not have reached alone.
2
One family
escapes the cycle. The next generation grows up with a different story to tell.
3
One future
ripples forward for decades. A doctor treats hundreds. A teacher shapes thousands.
Where your monthly gift goes

Three ways your halo changes the world.

Your monthly gift flows into three distinct areas — each one a different kind of miracle.

Education

Education is the bridge between potential and reality. We build ECD centres. Train teachers. Run after-school programmes. Clear the historical debt standing between a student and their destiny.

The bridge between potential and reality
Community Building

Through skills development, enterprise training, micro-business incubation, vegetable gardens and job placement, we strengthen communities from the inside out — giving people the skills, support, and structure to become truly self-sufficient.

Skills · Enterprise · Self-sufficiency
Angel Magic

Sometimes what's needed isn't a programme. It's a miracle, right now. We fund life-saving cardiac surgeries for babies. Build homes after a devastating fire. Pay emergency rent and school fees. We fly in fast, we act with heart, and we leave things infinitely better than we found them.

The miracle that shows up right now
These aren't statistics.

What your halo does in real life.

These are real people. Real lives. Generational turning points. Made possible because someone like you said YES!

Brian
When we first met Brian Ndlovu, he was working as a car guard by day and studying by night — often by candlelight during loadshedding. He had grit, discipline, and a quiet belief he could achieve more. The Angel Network funded one term of his Higher Certificate in Law through UNISA, with a simple promise: pass, and we continue. Brian didn't just pass. He earned 7 distinctions. From there, a village formed — donors gave financially, others gave books, a laptop, mentorship and belief. Today Brian is a BCom Law graduate working at a legal firm in Rosebank, forever changed by the quiet heroes who stepped in so he could soar.

Dr. Rufaro
Rufaro had made it further than most — through sheer determination and brilliance, she had nearly completed her medical degree. Then historical student debt stopped her cold. Years of sacrifice about to end, not because she lacked talent, but because she lacked means. The Angel Network covered her debt and funded her final year. Today Dr. Rufaro is completing her two-year medical internship with her sights firmly set on specialising as a cardiothoracic surgeon. She is now a role model, a provider, and a symbol to the next generation of what is possible.

🤝 Community Building
JAM
When Johannesburg Awakening Minds first came together, its members were living on the streets, many battling addiction. Under the mentorship of Dorothy Ann Gould, a doyenne of South African theatre, they were trained in Shakespeare, poetry, song and dance. The Angel Network funded professional courses to deepen their skills and open doors into the industry. The transformation has been remarkable. Now JAM is building their own production company — creating sustainable income, mentoring young people, and breaking cycles of poverty through the power of the arts. Because a stage isn't just a stage. For these performers, it's a life.

🤝 Community Building
Vutomi & 20 Bakers
Vutomi Lubisi is an accountant by profession, a baker by passion, and a true entrepreneur at heart. When COVID hit, she pivoted — building a thriving wedding cake business from her kitchen. She didn't stop there. Through Eully's Cakery, she now trains others to do the same. The Angel Network supported her beneficiaries with ovens and essential equipment — but more importantly, with skills, confidence and a pathway to income. Dozens walked in not knowing how to cost a cake or bake a scone. They walked out as business owners. Many are already selling into their communities.

🎓 Education
House of Dorcas
There were no desks. No classrooms. Just a handful of eager young learners sitting under a tree in KwaZulu-Natal, sharing books, sounding out English words, discovering that learning could feel safe and joyful. More children arrived. Volunteers stepped in. Reading circles became structured lessons. Daily academic support, English literacy, homework help, mentorship — a space where children are fed, guided, and reminded that their dreams matter. What started as one woman's act of care became a programme with purpose. It is more than aftercare. It is stability, dignity, and hope.

Sammy D's
In the heart of Orange Farm, Sammy D's was born during COVID as a simple soup kitchen — a place of warmth when the world felt uncertain. What began as bowls of soup for hungry families grew into something extraordinary. Today Sammy D's is a haven for 60 pre-school children — taught, fed, nurtured, and prepared for school with confidence and joy. It provides safe aftercare for 33 school-going children and stable employment for seven dedicated staff members. In a place with so little, Sammy D's created hope — not only for children, but for entire families.

Eco Tribe
The Angel Network funded the Gugulethu Food Forest Initiative to plant a thriving vegetable garden at Salt River Secondary School. Twenty learners — the Eco Tribe — tend it, harvest it, and take fresh produce home to their families. The school kitchen uses the harvest to feed learners living in impoverished conditions. But the garden nourishes them far beyond the meal. Students learn to plant, grow, harvest, make compost, cook nutritious meals, and earn an income by selling excess produce, seedlings and mulch. Skills, confidence and self-esteem that will outlast school entirely — and follow them into life.

✨ Angel Magic
32 Tiny Hearts
Some miracles come in the smallest packages. Thirty-two babies and toddlers — born with hearts that needed fixing — had families with no means, no connections, and no way to access the surgery that would save their child's life. The Angel Network funded every single operation. We also funded a life-saving surgery for a young girl battling cancer. We move fast — because with a baby's heart, there is no waiting. Thirty-two children grew up. Thirty-two families were forever changed. All because someone said yes.

A word from our founder
"

If you're a donor wondering whether your support makes a difference, please know this: it does.

It keeps people alive. It helps them hold onto their dignity. It gives them a place to come back to when life knocks them flat.

This work doesn't happen without you. And neither do these quiet, extraordinary turnarounds.

About The Angel Network

We started on a patio.
We haven't stopped since.

Ten years ago, Glynne Wolman sat at her patio table and packed toiletry bags. No master plan. No major funding. Just an unwillingness to look away.

We've grown beyond anything we imagined — operating across dozens of communities, with the vision, accountability and systems to match. But one thing has never changed.

Our heart.

The stubborn, unshakeable belief that every single person — regardless of where they were born, or what they were born into — deserves the chance to soar.

Not because we had to. Because it's the right thing to do.

And none of it happens without donors like you.

The children at Sammy D's will start school fed, safe and ready to learn.
The kids at House of Dorcas will grow up knowing that someone believed in them — and that made all the difference.
